Multi-Network SNMP
In a conventional network a direct LAN connection is required for routing SNMP traps from devices to the recipient server, this makes it impossible for multiple non-routable networks to aggregate SNMP data into a unified management portal. Ridge provides a simple and secure gateway between sites to allow disparate networks to be managed through Apex.
No Single Point of Failure
When SNMP is used at a single physical location there are rarely issues, however as SNMP devices begin to be deployed across physical locations, using separate internet connections the path to the main server becomes a singular point of failure. If the main monitoring server should crash or become unreachable, the entire system is vulnerable. Because each Ridge is its own SNMP host the overall reliability of the network is improved as single points of failure are eliminated. While one site’s network may fail, the remainder of the system continues to function. Further by using Apex in either a hybrid or cloud deployment uptime is guaranteed.

Ridge allows you to receive and aggregate SNMP messages directly at site. Ridge provides an at site SNMP host so messages can not only be dealt with sooner, but also kept secure.
